About
Welcome to Mr.S Teaching!
As an experienced educator with almost a decade of teaching experience, I am committed to providing valuable insights and resources for fellow teachers.

Here's a little bit about me!
Personal
I moved to the UK as a refugee back in 2002. Though I was almost 8 years old at the time, I was illiterate and academia just wasn't in the cards for me...or so I thought! With the support of the teaching assistants at my London-based primary school, I learned to read and write in English and began to excel both in primary and secondary school.

Education
I graduated from Queen Mary, University of London with a BSc in Psychology. I decided to pursue academia further and completed a Masters in Mental Health: Psychological Therapies at Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry. After completing my Masters, I joined the Teach First two year Leadership Development Programme and completed my Post Graduate Certificate in Education on the job. Whilst teaching, I have continued my professional development and have achieved my Special Education Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo) Award at Birmingham University. I have then gone on to complete my National Programme Qualification for Middle Leaders (NPQML) and currently completing my National Programme Qualification for Senior Leaders (NPQSL).

Teaching Career
I'm currently an Assistant Principal working in a one-form entry primary school in inner-city Birmingham. I split my time between teaching Year 4 and supporting in the running of the school. Though the area is one of the most disadvantaged in the country, don't let that fool you because these kids can achieve! In September 2023, my small school was graded OUTSTANDING by Ofsted.

The main purpose of this blog is to keep track of and share useful resources made and found throughout my teaching career. Why re-invent the wheel, right?

Hope you enjoy!
